I'm Julie Richard

Back in 2006, my freshman year at university marked the start of an unexpected challenge - my battle with weight gain.Ā 

I jumped from one diet to the next, from workout plans to barely exercising, only to find myself quitting time and again. The struggle felt insurmountable.

My weight fluctuated, and so did my hope.

My Story

In (2014) I began my career as an Occupational Therapist, immersed in teaching others how to cultivate healthy habits and adapt their environments to thrive.Ā 

From helping people improve their sleep routine & manage their stress, to inspiring action in those that had no motivation, my days were filled by the privilege of guiding others towards their goals.

Yet amidst these transformations I fostered in my clients, a realization dawned on me - why wasn't I practicing what I preached?

Coaching Myself Toward Success

I decided to become the student of my teachings. I started applying occupational therapy strategies to my own life. Gradually, everything shifted. Better sleep, increased focus, and a calm energy took root.Ā 

My motivation soared, and with it came consistency.Ā 

I was finally in control, not just of my weight, but my life.

It was a simple yet profound revelation. By combining coaching principles with the weight management strategies I'd accumulated, I saw genuine, lasting change. No longer was I needing diets; I was an architect of my well-being.

The Seasonal Strategy

Eventually, I acknowledged that I was a human with cravings and desires, and I wanted to enjoy the occasional need for indulgence.Ā 

I chose to welcome these moments with self-compassion and strategy.Ā 

Each Christmas, I decided to savor all the treats without guilt, because I now knew the blueprint for recovery come January. My confidence in this routine was solid - I was the living proof.

Empowering Others

Five years on, my Christmas tradition endures, a testament to the effectiveness and resilience of my approach.Ā 

And instead of keeping these strategies to myself, Iā€™ve decided to found Ulikeyou Weight Loss so I could share them with you.

With a desire to support others who struggle with their weight, I decided to get Certified as a Health Coach so I could reach beyond my original scope andĀ touch the lives of a broader audience.

Here, we don't just teach weight loss; we equip you to overcome the barriers that get in the way of your consistency. I've been there, and now it's my mission to walk this path with you. To show you that with the right tools, year-round wellness isn't just a wish - it's your attainable reality.
