Weight Watchers Vs. Noom Vs. Evolve Method

Weight Watchers vs. Noom

 

The similarities:

  1. The Evolve Method has the same goal as the Weight Watchers Program & The Noom App.  The goal being: a more realistic approach to weight loss (allowing you to continue eating what you love, in moderation), which ultimately promotes long lasting results.  
  2. The Evolve Method, just like Weight Watchers and Noom, offers nutrition guidelines, exercise guidelines, and stress management tools.
  3. All three programs have everything you need online, and on the go with the app.  

 

I personally believe that both Weight Watchers and Noom are good weight loss programs if this is your first go around at losing weight.  If all you need is information, Weight Watchers or Noom can take you there.  

  • If you prefer in-person community support, go with Weight Watchers 
  • If you are more digitally inclined and prefer to rely on an app, go with Noom. 

 

If you're already good at following diets, but you just need a structure, then you will be fine with Weight Watchers or Noom, but if you're like MANY people, you STRUGGLE to follow a diet because of stress & food addiction, and you don't have enough energy & motivation to exercise!

So, even if you register for a good diet program and an exercise plan, you likely won't follow it.  

 

Here is where the Weight Watchers Program and The Noom App start to fall short:

 

 

If you’ve been trying to lose weight but you keep quitting - then what you need is a weight loss framework that will build you a solid foundation, as it's helping you lose weight!  

 

A weight loss framework goes well beyond food and exercise.  It tackles every barrier that gets in the way of Weight loss.  These in-depth modules dive deep into every facet of your life that pushes you to quit all the diets you try. 

 

Just like with Weight Watchers and Noom, a weight loss framework has nutrition and exercise guidelines that  are realistic and flexible.  But unlike Weight Watchers or Noom, a weight loss framework also has a very clear step by step program that will help you get over those common weight loss barriers once and for all (like your lack of sleep, lack of motivation, your stress, your lack of energy, your food addiction, your lack of self-esteem, etc.)

 

  • The Noom App does not tackle sleep issues, which is a crucial component of your weight loss success.
  • The Weight Watchers Program offers simple education and tools to improve sleep, and offers meditation support, but does not dive deep into stress management as a whole (we all know how stress can directly affect our weight loss journey).
  • The Weight Watchers program puts A LOT of emphasis on their weekly in-person meetings. However, it has been said by Weight Watchers users, that if you can’t commit to the weekly in-person meetings, the rest of the program feels lackluster.  
  • The Noom app on the other hand puts A LOT of emphasis on their food categories.  So much so, that if you are someone that likes to cook a lot of homemade recipes or international dishes, the app may not be able to fit your food in their categories.  It’s also been said that the method Noom uses to categorize food can be confusing, putting a certain food in one category one day, but in another category the next day.  Some dieticians have also made the comment that some of the foods nutritionists consider as very healthy, were categorized as “less healthy” by Noom.  
  • Weight Watchers & Noom will give you access to a coah IF you're willing to pay an additional monthly fee!
  • Noom will give you a customized meal plan IF you're willing to pay more.
  • Noom will also give you a custom exercise plan IF you're willing to pay more.
  • Noom offers a "Mood program" that focuses on mindfulness and ways to better manage stress levels, but you can't enroll in this program and the weight loss program at the same time.
  •
